Shared cost
Service number
For 0180 numbers, the caller and the service provider share the costs of the call and the service behind it. Hence the term shared cost service number. There are a total of seven different tariff ranges in Germany, which are determined by the digit following the 0180 prefix. The numbers can also be reached from abroad, but the rates are usually different there. The numbers are mainly used in customer service and for support hotlines.
